Because of the recession, everybody is concerned about money. Budgets are being carefully scrutinized by all. No one wants to change the way they have been living over the past few years. They don’t like the idea of giving something up just to save money. Decisions have to be made, however, and some of the choices are more unpleasant than others.

When money was plentiful, many people could easily afford a fitness club membership. The monthly fee for the gym membership is money that we have complete control over whether we spend it or not. Often times, a person’s health club membership is underused and the money that is being spent on it is often not a good value. It is possible to get the same results without having to keep that expensive gym membership. The solution is to stop going to the gym and create your own fitness program in your own home. Depending on how sophisticated a person wants to get with their program, a person can spend a small fortune to outfit a home gym or they can spend little or no money if they choose.

There are many stores that have a wide range of exercise equipment available for purchase Home gyms can be equipped with one or two pieces of equipment rather than having the whole array of stuff. Spend your cash wisely when buying exercise equipment, if you buy something that doesn’t last than you might be wasting your time and money on it. When you are setting up your house as your home gym, take into consideration the amount of room you have available when finding things to outfit your gym with. Be aware of how your gym will look with the things that you buy, remember that you have to live in the house also and want it to remain comfortable. A cheap source of exercise equipment is garage sales. What someone else no longer has any use for, can be a piece of equipment that you can get for very little money. A trip to the local bookstore will yield a treasure trove of books or dvd’s that can teach a person how to do the latest fitness routine or teach you how to do six pack ab exercises that will get you into the shape that you desire, or you might even find these things for free at your local library.

Another thing that can be found in libraries and book stores are material that will show you different diet and exercise routines that can teach you how to lose weight fast in the comfort of your home and these things can cost little or no money for a person, all that is required is the effort. If you can’t find the information that is needed in books or videos, go online where you can find sites that are dedicated to helping people to get fit and healthy such as the biggest loser forum which offers hints and tips for a person in addition to chat rooms where you can find the support that is needed.

It is possible to start a diet and exercise program that does not bust the budget. What is important is to find the motivation necessary to lose the weight. You will not be successful at losing weight if you don’t work at even you pour every extra dollar into the best equipment available. Whether you do it in a gym or if you decide to do it a home, the commitment to doing it is the most important thing. But, if you are trying to find ways to trim the budget and are looking at expenses that you have control over, then consider that gym that you belong to. It might be just the extra money that you need to make ends meet and to enjoy life a little more.

When the subject of getting a passport or passport renewal is brought up, many people will roll their eyes as though it is the worst task that they can undertake. In all honesty, the prospect of standing in line after line is not really appetizing to anyone. Today, the entire process has been streamlined thanks in part to the Internet.

There are some criteria that must be met before attempting a passport renewal via the mail. The passport in question must be undamaged and available to be returned with the application. It must be a passport issued to an individual above the age of 16 and no older than 15 years along with being issued with your current name on it.

All the forms necessary may be found online and printed out. The correct forms will have complete instructions as to what is needed to accompany them back to the issuing agency. Once all criteria is met and the proper forms filled out, you then will need to send the forms along with supporting documentation, such as your old passport, to the address given you by the agency.

As anyone can imagine, these documents are very sensitive and should be treated with care. It is always best to use an overnight service from such carriers as UPS, USPS or FedEx that can provide tracking information and proof of delivery. Using a method such as this will also get the documents to where they have to be much quicker.

Something else that must be included with all of the other documentation is the passport photo. These are easily obtained, but must meet the criteria set or they will not be accepted. There are plenty of local photo shops that can handle this task and some post offices have a passport photo service that they offer.

Once the information has been received by the administrating agency, it will generally take a little less than two months to get back. If that time frame is unacceptable, there are other services that can speed things up considerably. There are even 24 hour services, but be prepared to dig deep into the wallet in order for something like that.

Each website will have a list of fees to decide from as to the speed of service that you would like to receive. If there is a need for an emergency renewal, such as a family incident out of the country, many of the agencies have a special department to handle these cases. They are well versed in moving the process along in these situations and will assist in any way they can.

By using the Internet, anyone can find out all of the details necessary for US passport renewal and choose a service that will benefit them. By staying on top of the expiration date and travel plans, all of the extra fees can be avoided. However, it is good to know that there are some alternatives out there to get expedited American passports if necessary.

Barcelona is the first city of Catalunya, 1 of the richest and largely intensely autonomous areas in Spain. Catalan inhabitants converse their own language and many do not think themselves to be Spanish. The golden age of Catalunya was approximately the twelfth to fourteenth centuries, when Barcelona was the hub of the grand seafaring empire of Aragon. Besides to Barcelona, Catalunya is made up of the cities of Lleida, Girona and Tarragona, and the lengthy Costa Brava, stretching from the French border to Valencia.

Barcelona has become a valid tourist trap for the brilliant combination of activities on offer there. Its coastal location attracts sun worshipers who like the beach front resorts by the side of the coast, as well as the pulsating nightlife of the city centre. The cultural and historical delights of the town draw the sightseer, visiting for a long weekend, and the more lively will fancy mountaineering in the close by mountains, where skiing can be found in winter.

As far as European cities go, Barcelona is a reasonably simple city to navigate. Its natural mountains and seafront means that it has a gradual incline, and also is very compact. This does however mean that some of the city’s sights are missed, as it’s sometimes tiring walking uphill for half of the day, and downhill for the other half. The city’s underground system is a great way to get around instantly, however you miss out on really seeing the city, and regularly are confused when you get back up to street level (everyone does the same in rotating the map about a few times to double-check wherever you are!).

The Barcelona Tourist Bus has 3 routes, but I would express only 2 are worthwhile - the red and the blue route (North and South routes). The 3rd green route only takes you to the forum building. So if you focus on the red and blue routes, you can go to all of the city’s sights, and have the additional advantage of being above-ground as you do it, so you actually catch sight of the whole of Barcelona, too. Clearly throughout the spring and summer months it’s good to be on the top with no roof and a pleasant breeze running through your hair whilst you take in the beautiful buildings of Gaudi, the fantastic Camp Nou football stadium, the magic dancing fountains at Placa España, and many, many more attractions.

The most prominent figure of Barcelona and one sight that all holidaymakers want to visit is Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia. Even persons that have not visited the city will be familiar with the dripping wax picture of the most important façade. The recognized architect commenced work on this church in 1882, however the task took a long time as the building work relied on donations, and it had not been completed in 1926 when Gaudi was hit by a train and died. Work has since recommenced on the church and a great deal has been added since Gaudi’s bereavement, but there is speculation as to whether the building will ever be totally completed, or in reality whether it really should be.

You could pay to go up within one of the towers, of which there are now eight, each one over one hundred meters high. The original proposal was intended to incorporate eighteen towers, one for each of the twelve apostles, four for the Evangelists, and one each for Jesus and the Virgin Mary.

Additional piece of Gaudi’s work can be witnessed all over the city. You will want to pull the Park Guell, La Pedrera and the Mila dwelling into your itinerary if you possibly can.

If you´re still stuck for idea the Poble Espanyol has become the 4th most prevalent tourist landmark in the city. The design was copied from Modernist architect Puig i Cadafalch, and the creators visited 1600 villages in and around Spain and its islands to re-create 117 scale models of buildings and traditional sites from all about Spain.

Culture lovers will be enthralled by the Fran Daurel foundation, boasting artwork from Picasso, Dali, Miró, Tapies and various others, plus there is a brilliant Sculpture Garden offering photo possibilities galore of sprawling Barcelona below. The village also has some great bars and restaurants, as well as some great nightclubs in Barcelona on an evening.

Heres 5 inexpensive things to do in Barcelona

1. Walking in Barcelona - is free, laid-back and entertaining and what better means to really get to experience a city. I definitely love walking about side streets and alleyways in districts such as Barri Gotic in Barcelona. You come across a number of cafes, old and unusual shops.

2. Relaxing on the beach in Barcelona is naturally incredibly cheap and on a good sunny day where else would you want to be. If you do not mind spending a tiny bit of cash then there are masses of restaurants and eateries down the boardwalk and if you like sea-food, you can devour everything from mussels to cod.

3. Museums in Barcelona has a considerable number of museums and several of these are well worth checking out in Barcelona. Even if several of them habitually charge for access, they are fairly priced and you can undoubtedly waste away a few days of your holiday or trip by checking out a few of the scores of Barcelona museums.

4.Spending time about Las Ramblas and enjoying the street entertainers, shops, general air and the warm weather is a great means to loosen up. Get yourself a chair and a drink just off of Las Ramblas (to avoid tourist rates on the major street) and benefit from all that Barcelona has to offer.

5.Remain in your hotel room. If you are paying a sufficient amount already for your hotel room or vacation apartment then you might like to get your money’s worth so why not spend a lot of time in the hotel room. If you have a terrace which comes with the room then lounging out on the balcony with a bottle of Spanish wine from the supermarket and people watching can be a wonderful way to really sense a piece of Barcelona living.

You can get comprehensive information regarding the sights of Barcelona before you go from your travel agent, the net, or the tourist information office in Barcelona’s major square when you get there. Ensure that you pick up a map showing all the major sights as well as the main stores, restaurants and hotels. Also think about going on a bus trip of the city. It is a excellent way to get your bearings in a incredibly busy and crowded city, and give you an feeling of the distance between places of interest. Speak to your guide, they may possibly be able to give you local information about excellent eating places and provisional exhibitions that will not be marked on your map. You will on no account get bored in Barcelona; your only worry will be how to fit in everything you want to appreciate.

Anyone wishing to leave the United States, or any home country for that matter, will need to know how to get a United States passport. Today, international travel, even to border countries, requires that passport documentation be used to enter any country from another country. We are going to try and explain the process to make the whole experience easier for first time passport applicants.

It is always recommended that before anyone makes a move, they get online and read all of the rules and laws that the State Department has in place in regards to passports. These laws will sometimes change and it is best to be 100% sure of what is needed. There are other locations on the Internet that will provide this information, but the State Department is the original source and the best one to use.

Prior to applying for a passport a potential applicant must get passport photos. Passport photos can be taken at any local one-hour photo counter. Normally, the photo-counter will be able to crop your photos to passport size right in the store. Passport photos must be a certain size so that the processing center can easily place them on the passport. The process is normally relatively quick and inexpensive.

After the photos are obtained, check to make sure that all relevant documentation is on hand. Having a valid drivers license or other current government issued ID will be needed along with proof of citizenship. The applicant is also required to make photo copies of all of their documents.

In many areas, the post office is the passport office of choice. However, not all post office locations can process passports. In addition to that, not all of them have the ability to provide the passport photo service. The easiest way to check is to go to www.usps.com and see if a post office nearby can handle the passport processing.

First time applicants fill out the application at the center. Currently, the Department of State estimates a four to six week processing period for passport applications. This is not a static number and it ends to fluctuate wildly. Typically, passport applications go up a few months before high vacation seasons. The busiest times of the year for international travel are typically summer and the winter holiday season.

Applicants that want or need to receive their passports in less than four to six weeks may consider applying for an expedited passport. For an additional sixty dollars, plus shipping fees, expedited passports typically arrive in half the time. There are other options for super-rush passports, but these are typically quite expensive and should be reserved for dire emergencies. Like all aspects of international travel, passport applications require a bit of planning and foresight.

While getting a filling out the pasport application form can be a bit of a chore, knowing how to get a USA Passport is half the battle. It is amazing how many people show up without the right documentation, missing photos or even the wrong sized photos. All they get is a shake of the head and sent to the back of the line why they get their things in order.

Andrés Bonifacio y de Castro (November 30, 1863 – May 10, 1897) was a Filipino nationalist and revolutionary. Bonifacio’s birthday on November 30 is celebrated as Bonifacio Day and is a public holiday in the Philippines. He is most celebrated for his leadership of the Katipunan movement which succeeded in ending the Philippines long rule under the Spanish. His success elevated him to the position as one of the country’s most revered icons. And although he is not recognised officially as such, he is widely regarded to be the Philippines’ first president.

Hisory of this Philippines holiday

Born to Santiago and Catalina Bonifacio, Andres was the eldest of six children.Although his father was a tailor, he also served as deputy town mayor. His mother worked in a cigarette factory. He was orphaned in his late teens - his mother died of tuberculosis in 1881 and his father followed a year after. To support the rest of the family, he dropped out of school after his parents died.He worked as a clerk/messenger for the English trading firm Fleming and Company, where he rose to become a agent of tar and other goods.

He also set up a family business of selling canes and paper fans. Bonifacio has two marriages; his first wife died of leprosy. His second wife was Gregoria de Jesus of Caloocan, with whom he had one son who died in infancy.Despite these setbacks, and not finishing his formal education, Bonifacio educated himself. He was also a Freemason and was a member of the Gan Oriente Espanol - the Spanish Grand Lodge.

Then in 1892, Bonifacio joined the main party calling for political reform - La Liga Filipina (translated as The Philippine League). However, this involvement was short-lived as the party in question was disbanded; the leader Rizal being deported to another part of the country. Despite this, the party managed to reform, and Bonifacio’s role was to organise local chapters to drum up popular support.

Financial support was given from Spain, and eventually another party was formed - this time called Katipunan (the highest, most respected society of the sons of the country) - whose goal was to bring about freedom from Spain using arms.

Philippines Bonifacio Day Customs and Activities

As a mark of rememberence, the 30th November is a national holiday in Philippines. The day is set aside to celebrate the birth of Bonifacio, and his struggle against hardship to rise as one of the country’s most important figures of political revolt. There are monuments to Andres Bonifacio, and these are often visited and adorned with flowers on Bonifacio day.

Anyone that is looking to take an international trip better get ready to get in line at their local new passport office if they don’t already have a passport. Finding an office is not difficult, especially with the help of the Internet. A surprise for many is that their local post office also serves as a passport processing center.

The one thing that everyone can rest assured of is that there are no shortcuts when it comes to passport applications, especially for first time passport applicants. The forms all have to be filled out and all the right documentation must be included. This one document is how the government tracks who is coming and who is going and they make sure that everything is in line before that little blue book gets issued.

This is the only way the government has to track people that are coming in and out of the country so they make sure that it is very thorough. With so many rules in place about national security and international travel, it is no wonder that the government wants anyone that is getting their first passport to go through the process in person. Even though the process can take up some time, the government does try and make it as simple as possible.

Often times, passport application offices are inside local government offices. A passport application center may be located in the local post office, public library, clerks of court office, or any other local, state, or federal office building. Most people do not have a hard time finding an office that is convenient for them.

Because a passport photo is one of the requirements, it is best to try and get it done before ever heading to the passport office. However, there are many offices that actually have photo services at their location. This can be checked quite easily online as the services that the passport office provides are clearly listed on the site.

There will still be times when a person must still head to a regional office, but they are exceptions. When expedited service is needed, the local office cannot handle the task. When this happens, the trip to the regional city is going to happen. Those that are in major cities are in luck because most of them have a regional office. People that are living in smaller areas are in for a long road trip.

The exception to the in person rule is anyone that is getting a passport renewal. Luckily, the only time that a person has to make the live appearance is when they are getting a new passport. Renewals can be handled online and via the mail. It is advised to use overnight shipping though, just to make sure that the documents are better protected.

Why it would be nice if the electronic age could be useful in avoiding the American passport office, there is simply no way around it for a first time new passport applicant. These laws are in place for good reason and it all comes down to national security. If they made the process too easy, anyone could get a passport and just about anyone would be able to get into the country.
